How to win games
General tips:
Always pair off with a buddy or two. Always have a partner you can trust and depend on. Move together covering one another. You can triangulate to eliminate more opponents.
We have also found that going in groups of three (3) has also been a profitable strategy. One of the 3 is the cover man, he stays back and yells out information and covers for the other two. The other two leg workers go out, shoot, and follow his directions. The cover man tells them where the other players are and is usually is out of range and safe. In this situation if one of the two leg workers is eliminated, the cover man moves up and becomes a buddy to the remaining legman. The cover man must be ready to act fast running up to cover.
If you have to reload paint and refill tell your partner (but not out loud, that would be suicide). He can keep you covered. We recall a situation when one of our guys ran up on a guy who was refilling, the opponent immediately surrendered. Had he told a partner or buddy, this would not have happened and he would still be in the game.
Keep moving. Never stay in one location. One strategy that has proven to be very successful is multiplying yourself by constant, dynamic movement.
“I remember once shooting at some guys from behind some tires untill they ducked for cover. I retreated to a bunch of old wood piles and fired some more untill they hid again. Now they thought I was two different players. Then I retreated to a metal bunker and hid. They slowly moved and attacked the man behind the tires finding no one. Slowly they manuevered and thought they were surprising the man behind the wood, but found no one. Then I jumped out and eliminateed both of them.”
Always communicate and don’t be afraid to yell. You have to do this is. Tell your buddies what is going on. Stay in touch. Communication is of the utmost importance.
How to win Capture the Flag
I have found that the best way to win this depends on your situation. There is no ‘right’ way to win this. Devise a plan with your captain and stick to it. If you are starting on a lower end (less elevated, fighting slightly uphill) then you are better off playing defensively untill the three minute warning. See below for three minute warning. If you are playing from a higher elevation side take as many bunkers as possible (see taking a bunker below). Obviously try to eleminate as many opponents as possible.
Also one strategy which has been helpful (designed by Sami Khan) is to divide the team up into thirds. One third stays back and defends, one third goes left, the last third goes right. However, the right side goes strong to the right taking land and keeping them busy, and then quickly withdraws and follows up the left team. This is a very powerful strategy. Unbeleivably getting results fast. The left team goes up and begins taking land and bunkers, then soon thereafter reinforcements show up. the opponents on the left are quickly devoured. The right side opponents have no clue what is going on and typically the the defensive-protect-the-flag team keeps them busy from far range. What happens is that eventually the right opponents can be flushed out from the back by the left. amazing strategy, amost foolproof.
How to win at Center Flag
The key to winning this game is to take the flag as soon as possible. Have one person be the flag runner. The flag runner should be the fastest quickest and bravest person on the team. He duty is to sprint to the flag and grab it. The runner follower is the player that shadows him and protects him. Typically someone who can keep up with the runner should be the shadow. The rest of the team runs nearby, don’t go too far, firing like mad. The runner and shadower should also be firing. Get that flag then retreat a little bit. Don’t be afraid, paint guns are not accurate, most likely you will make it out alright. If you are the shadow do your job. Once I remember there was 45 seconds left and no one had grabbed the flag. I sprinted grabbed the flag and continued to the other end. No one expects that and I made it untouched. the referee checked me and I was clear. (see three minute warning below) Once I had the flag and there was about 1 minute left, I had to go hang the flag on a clothesline drawn across two trees. i couldn’t because there was a man behind some tires, a man behind wood, and I was all out of air. They both saw me. One was not firing for some odd reason. i just broke for it. I figured they would not be able to hit me if I ran fast enough. Turns out the man who was in plain view and not firing was out of paint, and the hider in the tires was scared and wanted to hide.
If you can’t get the flag right away just hold off and protect your base until the time runs out to secure a draw.
How to win at President’s Men
Make sure your President is very fast. Keep him hidden and play extremely defensively. Just keep them busy and try snipering them slowly until they are all dead.
How to win at Paris Island
This is of the most exciting games. The best way to win if you are outside the island is to send all the troops to attack the island from one side and send one from the opposite side. The one from the backside should be instructed to wait until there is only about 5 minutes left. what happens is that the Island inhabitants get so involved that they forget their backside and eventually one can tactfully come through the back, often unnoticed and take the flag and walk away. I once did this and only used two paintballs. I could not get to the flag without passing in front of one bunker. I approached the back of the bunker unnoticed pulled the drape over and slowly shot the two inhabitants in the back. They had no clue. This plan may be foiled so have a back up plan. make sure your teammates are really not just keeping them busy. They have to be trying hard to. But they should not attack the Island until you are eliminated so as not to draw to much attention to the interior of the Island.
If you are an Island inhabitant take it slow and draw it out. Keep your eyes open on all fronts. Don’t get over confident. Just wait it out and you win!
How to win Predator Prey
If you are a Predator, stay out of sight and don’t open fire until you are sure you can do damage. Remember the prey can’t start firing until you do. take good shots and hide. If you want you can hide one person and protect him, so as to insure reproduction. Play hard and get as many helpers as possible. But don’t depend on them. If they got hit and changed sides, they got hit for a reason (they are probably not good players). so just play tough and work fast but very carefully.
If you are a prey. Quickly get out there and start firing to find out where they are hiding. Make sure the teams acts as a whole. There are only a few of them. Just rain down on them hard. Make sure none of your teammates die, they become predators and will hurt your cause. Play tough and fire like mad.
How to take out a Bunker
If you are alone watch all sides and see where they are hiding. Suppress them with fire then rush in and take them all out when they least expect it.
