Winning Attitude

It takes a combination of three things to win: attitude, attitude, and more attitude. One must firmly believe that he will win no matter what. You have to be aggressive and want to win. One must never give up and continue to play and practice. You have to believe, firmly, that you are invincible and you must have no fear of getting killed at all. Just play to the extreme and never give up. If your gun malfunctions or you run out of ammo or CO2, just SHUT UP and keep playing. You can be a decoy, you can still assist, you can still help the team effort. It makes a huge difference. Attitude has such a huge impact on performance.

Once I remember I was sneaking up on two guys in a two story fort. I was in the trail keeping them down. Every time a head or gun popped up I would fire to keep them down. Eventually the player in the top whispered down to the player at the bottom that he ran out of paint. I immediately ran up on them and killed both of them from the open backside. One surrendered, the other one I had to shoot because I doubted his common sense (I did not think he would surrender).

Once I ran out of air and an 11 year veteran, Mike Gomez, asked me to cover him. I pointed at my gun, and he took off expecting me to cover him. Mike is one of the best players around and was wondering afterward why on earth I did not cover him. I explained and he laughed it off. Mike had a Typhoon, a relatively accurate gun, compared to other guns. No paint guns are accurate. Make sure your partner understands that you don’t have paint. Even if you have to yell it out.
