Hey buddy, your gun sucks

On Commenting about Each Other’s Markers.

We need more people who care about the new people and understand that not everyone has either the money nor the desire to go for the higher end equipment. Also, remember, no matter how expensive, pretty, fast or accurate your marker is, if you suck, you suck. I’ve seen people with complete tournament setups, running HPA, with all the chrome and color you can fit on the marker, get nailed by a kid playing for his first time using a rental Tippman that’s seen as much dirt and mud as it has paint.

As time goes on, the person who thinks they’re hot [expletive], will be more worried about about spouting off and showing off, while the newbie with the “crap” gear is working on getting better. Time passes and the newbie has sense upgraded a bit and comes back and walks all over the loud mouth.

Story time. Out playing at my old teams practice field, we had invited a few people out for some friendly games. One of the guys comes out with his cocker, looks at a friend’s of mine stock spyder and proclaims it a piece of crap. Well, my friend shrugs it off, saying no biggie, he just started playing and it was what he wanted to buy. Well, we go play a game, and never run into this guy with the cocker. Come to find out he had to leave the game mid way through because his cocker got sick. He couldn’t fix it, so he had to borrow a marker, a spare spyder we had out at the field. My friend could do nothing but laugh.

Sidenote – speaking of spyders. I used to not like them when they first came out. I have since changed my mind and do a lot of custom work on them now. That “newbie” with the stock spyder is still shooting the spyder 2.5 years later, but it is no where near stock. In fact it is completely low pressure and every modification that can be done, is done. He’s also had bionic implants inserted in his finger (that’s the only way I can explain it), because he can actually out shoot a VL2000 quite easily. However I can say that I’ve used his spyder as a test bed for every single modification I can think of, including some insane work on the trigger.
