Are you at a point in life where making money comes by way of flipping burgers for the local fast food joint? Are you desperate to get into the game with a faster paintball gun or better gear? Have you ever wondered how you can make more money for your paintball addiction? Well, let me share with you a secret that has kept me up to date with the coolest gear and the best guns on the market.

The secret to successfully making money for paintball is simple. It is not too difficult to do or even to get started and once you do, you will never have a need for that high-end tourney marker again. The secret is this, buying for cheap and selling for more. In essence the term bartering could sum it up. Anybody can make a hobby out of bartering and doing so will help you reap the benefits of some of the fastest paintball guns and coolest paintball gear on the market today.

There are several avenues to choose from when starting your way up the paintball gear ladder. Buying and selling can be done at your local field or right at your computer desk. Finding the avenue that suits you is your choice. Here are a few ideas that might help you along in choosing what path you might feel more comfortable with.

First off, utilizing online auctions like Ebay is a great way to go when getting started in the bartering of paintball equipment. Buying from Ebay is as easy as setting up a free account and digging into the many items they have listed in a specific category or item description. Setting up an account takes as little as three minutes and you will be well on your way to the online cyber shopping mall.

With a wide range of new, used and refurbished items, Ebay has it all. Hunting down deals can be rather enjoyable and learning to work the system can be exciting. Like I said before however, making the money this way is not the easiest way but the methods are simple. If you find an item for cheap and know you can sell it for more, then bid. If not move on to the next. Ebay is not the only place you can search for inexpensive items and sell other items you may have, but it is a great example.

Another great example and my second helpful hint for making money for paintball by way of bartering is through the online paintball forums. Choosing to deal through these forums is a little more risky but many of the forums out there have attempted to make the dealing a little sweeter by instating a “feedback thread” that users can post the outcome their transactions with particular members in.

Much like the feedback ratings you have on Ebay, they too have secured peoples reputations and try to set the buyer/seller’s mind at ease. After a few transactions between users followed by positive feedback and your set for future of fun trading, selling and buying within the forum realm of the Internet.

With any online purchase or sale, there is always a slight risk involved. But with the proper knowledge of the way things work you can play the game safely and deal with only those you can trust. There is also third party trading for those that wish to make their trading or selling experiences more secure. Becoming knowledgeable and understanding the forum you are involved in is a great way to protect yourself. Be aware of the person you’re dealing with and take all the necessary precautions to ensure a fast and pleasant transaction.

The third and last bit of advice about bartering for better gear is through your local field or pro shop. Now I understand that the pro shops have to make a buck but if you have something that they need, they may be able to sweeten the deal with something your interested in or something you can sell elsewhere for a profit. At your local field, buying and selling, even trading can be the safest way to go.

Having the opportunity to see the item and even use it before buying helps in the transaction, but in the end may not bring in the gains your looking for. Look for the right people that need to sell or want what you have bad enough to take a loss. Their loss is your gain. If they are willing then take the chance and make the opportunity work for you.

Buying, trading and selling to make money for paintball is a great way to find yourself shooting the best guns and wearing the best gear. In doing so you may just open up a totally new future for your game. Understand that it is work to achieve the goals you set for yourself so start small and take your time. Be confident in your sales and make only the decisions that will profit gain for you and your game. If you have a true desire to play with only the best equipment and shoot the hottest markers then you will find there is no obstacle too large to over come when choosing to barter.
