Tippmann Carbine 68
Tippmann 68 Carbine
The Carbine is the
newest member of the Tippmann family of paintball markers. It is a little
bit lighter than the Prolite and operates in about the same way. Some
enhancements have been made to the looks. The grip is no longer a gas
through grip, which makes the whole gun a little more modifiable. The
valves on all Tippmann products can shoot liquid as well as gaseous CO2.
This is great for winter play when CO2 may liquify. Many modifications
can be made; I have seen double finger triggers, expansion chambers, remotes,
and all sorts of other goodies. They can even be anodized. One very cheap
modification that really improves this gun is to lighten the springs and
add a double finger trigger. It should run you around 50 dollars and really
changes the gun. The stiff Tippmann trigger is now very light. The gun
is almost instantly transformed into a tournament level gun. I have seen
teams in beginners tournaments win with Carbines beating out teams with
automags and autocockers. One problem is the elbow that holds the hopper.
When they get worn out they pop right off. This can cause problems if
your hopper falls off while you are playing. But I am sure you can purchase
a new elbow. Excellent gun for the money!
