Automag
Airgun Designs Automag
The Automag is the
brother and direct competitor for the Autococker. People like to compare
these guns often, but to me they are interchangeable. Neither is better
than the other, they are each unique. The Automag is a different looking
type of gun. It has a cylindrical look. The Automag can shoot about 6
to 9 shots per second, again depending on the user's adeptness. The gun
is smaller in dimension than the Autococker, but weighs about the same.
One caveat I have with the Automag, is that it really needs to be run
on compressed air. I tried one of these with CO2 and it really does not
work very well. After about 5-6 quick shots the regulator freezes up causing
the gun to fail and not shoot properly. So if you want an Automag you
will need a nitrogen system or a ton of expansion chambers. Also if you
are a CO2 user, you will have great difficulty in colder weather. Once
I remember having to rub the regulator with my hand to create friction
and warm it up. Overall, the Automag is reliable with the right set ups.
The Automag has been used in many tournaments. In terms of customizability,
the Automag can be customized to a certain degree, but not as much as
some other markers. But if you want a hassle free dependable gun, go with
the Automag. Less can go wrong with the Automag.
