Staff Report
Size:
The paintballs were measured around the seam and then
around the shorter side (no seam). The balls were measured with a digital
measuring device with an accuracy of 0.0005 inches. Three random balls
were measured and the results are below.

Keep in mind that we chose three random paintballs and
this is not considered statistically significant.
Notes:
Overall fairly consistent ball to ball measurements. Broke the best of
all the paints tested.
Best Barrels:
The top performing barrels were:
1. Freak14" All American tip with .682 insert
2. Bob Long 14" .691
3. PMI Razzor 14" .690
Tie for fourth:
4. J&J Pro1 12" .688
4. Freak Teardrop 12" .679
5. Lapco Autospirit 10" .690
Tie for sixth:
6. J&J Ceramic 14" .688
6. J&J Two-Piece 14" .688
6. Lapco Bigshot 12" .689
What does this mean?
Different barrels do different things on different days with different
paints. That's about all we can say.
It seems obvious that larger bore barrels seemed to have
an advantage and so did longer barrels. We were especially impressed with
the J&J line which performed extremely well.
Overall the one-piece barrels outperformed the two-piece
barrels. Only 3 of the 9 barrels were two-piece types.
Also notice that aluminum barrels did much better than
stainless steel ones.
